Empowering the Information, Knowledge, and Learning (IKL) Team at Paris 2024
The IKL department’s purpose is to facilitate access to all Paris 2024 related data for the Organizing Committee and its stakeholders. It is responsible for collecting data and knowledge from the entire Paris 2024 project as well as from previous Olympic and Paralympic Games, to empower the planning of this summer’s events.
Their mission is to make this information easily accessible to all stakeholders, ensuring that an intellectual legacy is left after Paris 2024 for future organizing committees. The IKL department plays a crucial role in preserving and sharing valuable insights and lessons learned, contributing to the continuous improvement of the Olympic Games.
“It’s really easy to navigate in OnePlan and dig into key facts. The user interface is very appealing and boosts user adoption.”
OnePlan as the ‘single source of truth’ for Paris 2024 planning
This alignment saves time, reduces the need for site visits, and ensures all critical data is readily available and consistent. The single source of truth provided by OnePlan is instrumental in improving collaboration and preventing the creation of isolated, potentially conflicting data sources.
One of the standout features of OnePlan is its ease of navigation and appealing user interface. Kévin notes, “It’s really easy to navigate in OnePlan and dig into key facts. The user interface is very appealing and boosts user adoption.”
Overcoming Planning Challenges and Enhancing Collaboration with Data
Data-Driven Planning Success
The data that Kévin and his team manage and track in OnePlan covers many other functional areas including Transport, Food and Beverage and TV broadcast. The People Management (PEM) team is using OnePlan extensively for ‘dot planning’ to place workforce, contractors and volunteers in position. In total, there will be 4,500 staff, 45,000 volunteers and 100,000+ contractors for Paris 2024.
This level of detailed and comprehensive planning across multiple functional areas of The Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 shows the critical role that OnePlan plays in facilitating successful mega event management. Thanks to OnePlan, one functional area has seen 80% time saved. Tasks that used to take five hours with standard tools now take just one hour with OnePlan. The work that Kévin and the IKL team does to manage this data in OnePlan plays a significant contribution to planning a successful Olympic and Paralympic Games – for Paris 2024 and beyond.
